I can’t believe I’m departing so quickly to my next destination…
This trip caught my eye before I left for Ethiopia, but I felt like I was not to pursue that until I was back from Ethiopia. Okay, I get that. I had no idea what Ethiopia was to bring. But while I was in Ethiopia, it started to dawn on me that Taiwan was in fact, in the works, but not on my time or my planning. He was going to do the planning for me. :) Its easier that way, really.
I will be travelling again with All God’s Children, International. They will be opening a new Hannah’s Hope Orphanage and we’ll be preparing it for new babies to start processing through to their forever families. The most exciting part for me will be visiting and contributing to the Morning Light Home in Taitung, for birth mothers and babies in the adoption process.
In Taiwan, there is a lot of shame associated with an unplanned pregnancy, and many women choose to abort their children. The Promise of Life program offeres an altnernative by support through education, counseling, and resources to women with an unplanned pregnancy. This ministry meets the needs of these young, unwed mothers by providing ongoing counseling support and prenatal care, along with monthly care packages that include food, clothing, and vitamins. The overall mission of this program is to ensure a better life for both mother and child. Morning Light serves as a refuge for women who have no place to go and provides a safe, nurturing environment for them.
I do not know how my story will be utilized here, but I hope that I will be able to share with them the hope and freedom there is first of all, in the Lord, but that abortion does not have to be a birth control option for them.
One exciting event we’ll be a part of is the ‘Respect Life’ activity day that has been planned. This event is a strong pro-life event that will have booths with different topics related to pregnancy and abortion. They have never done anything like this in Taitung, so we are all praying this event reaches many!
I will be departing for Taiwan May 5th and returning May 16th. I’m selling some inspirational prints to help with fund raising (click here) if you’re interested in purchasing any. All proceeds will go towards funding my trip. If you’re interested in or feel led to contribute financially, please contact me at: singlemamamissionary at comcast dot net. All monetary contributions are tax deductible.
I will be finishing up my updates for Ethiopia soon! Please stay tuned!
